
Family Centers’ Early Care and Education program will kick off a weeklong schedule of activities on April 24 in celebration of the “Week of the Young Child.”
Sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the Week of the Young Child is an annual observance designed to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families. The celebration also puts the spotlight on local early childhood programs and the services they offer to promote healthy development.
Throughout the week, Family Centers’ three NAEYC-accredited preschool sites in Greenwich will hold special events like music demonstrations, nutrition education and child/parent reading time. Notable events include:
- Music Monday with “Robert the Guitar Guy” on April 24 at 3 p.m. at the Grauer Preschool, located at 40 Arch Street in Greenwich
- Tasty Tuesday on April 25 at 3:30 p.m. at the Gateway Preschool, located at 2 Chapel Street in Greenwich. Students will make healthy and delicious smoothies.
- Family Friday Breakfast on April 28 at 8:30 a.m. the Grauer Preschool (40 Arch Street) and the Gateway Preschool (2 Chapel Street). Students will enjoy a special breakfast with their families.
Family Centers’ Early Care and Education program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which is largely considered the gold standard for preschool programs. Family Centers provides preschool services that are developmentally and socially rich for children between the ages of 6-weeks and five years.
