On Jan. 21 and 22, the singers of the Greenwich Choral Society will join the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra to perform the beautiful Mass in G Major of Franz Schubert. Guest soloists soprano Halley Gilbert, tenor Elliott Deasy, and baritone Jonathan Rohr will join the chorus, under the baton of GSO conductor David Gilbert. Of Schubert’s six mass settings, the Mass in G is the shortest and perhaps the sweetest, filled with many song-like melodies. Also on the program will be the Alfonso and Estrella Overture by Schubert and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 1, performed by the orchestra.

The concert will take place on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. and repeat on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 4 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Greenwich High School, 10 Hillside Rd. A free, pre-concert lecture will be given one hour before each performance. Adult tickets are $35, students $10. For additional information call 203-869-2664.
