St. Catherine’s Players will hold open auditions for its production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid on Tuesday, Nov. 29 and Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 7:30 p.m. This is the Broadway version of the show with mainly adult principals and an active ensemble of all ages. Children must be at least eight years old or in third grade. The auditions will take place at St. Catherine of Siena Church in the Lucey Parish Hall, 4 Riverside Ave. Callbacks will be Thursday, Dec. 1, if needed.
Those interested should bring a prepared song and sheet music in their key for the music director. It is preferred that they not choose a song from Disney’s The Little Mermaid score. A group dance audition will be held each evening. In addition, they should bring a list of their rehearsal and production date conflicts (January through mid-March).
Rehearsals run Tuesday, Jan. 3 to March 2, 2017 and may be held Monday through Thursday and some Sunday evenings. Not all cast members are called for all rehearsals and times vary depending on role. Production dates are March 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, and 12, 2017 with curtain times of Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 7 and Sundays at 2.
