Seventy-five golfers turned out on Sept. 21 at the Griffith E. Harris Golf Course on the “official” last day of summer to attend the 9th Annual Witherell Celebrity Golf Invitational. Proceeds from the successful event will will support critical programs and services for Witherell residents.
Local sports legends in attendance included former New York Giants wide receiver Don Hermann, US Olympic Women’s Hockey Team gold medalist Sue Merz, and Wes Matthews, former NBA point guard and two-time LA Lakers NBA champion. Participants enjoyed lunch, followed by 18 holes of golf. The outing concluded with a reception and steak dinner, complete with an outstanding raffle and awards presentation.
