The Greenwich Symphony will welcome friends and wine lovers to its annual Wine & Cheese Festival on Friday, Oct. 14 from 7 to 9:30 p.m., at Richards of Greenwich, 359 Greenwich Ave. Proceeds from the event will support live orchestra performances for more than 6,000 students in grades two through seven in Greenwich public and independent schools. The honored guest at the event will be Darby Cartun, a daily talk show host for 1490 A.M. WGCH Radio.

The event will feature tastings of more than 75 exceptional wines selected by Terry Rogers Matthews of Horseneck Wines & Liquors. There will also be a table of premium wines produced by Connecticut home vintners. Guests will enjoy gourmet cheeses and other special delicacies from local partners, including Aux Delices Foods and Crew and Bella Nonna restaurants.

Background music will be provided throughout the night by Larry Spivack’s “Lucky 37” Jazz Quartet. Advance reservations are recommended. Tickets, starting at $100, may be purchased by phone at 203-869-2664 or 203-661-9897, or at the door.
