Enjoy cocktails, light bites, and conversation courtesy of GEMS at L’Escale restaurant tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. This free evening is a great way to meet patients who have benefited from GEMS’s “emergency room on wheels” and learn more about the life-saving work they do for the Town of Greenwich. More than 50 people are expected to attend.
GEMS is an independent non-profit and sole provider of emergency services to the Town of Greenwich. It is not too late to attend, please RSVP to GreenwichEMSevents@gmail.com or simply show up on Thursday night.
About Greenwich Emergency Medical Service (GEMS)
The mission of Greenwich Emergency Medical Service (GEMS) is to provide the highest level of pre-hospital and emergency medical care to reduce the risk of death and disability due to trauma and sudden illness.
Each year GEMS responds to 6,000 911 emergency calls from four stations that are manned 24/7. This enables GEMS to respond to 70-75% of calls in 5 minutes or less, which exceeds the response time of most EMS services. The organization currently has a fleet of seven ambulances, and to remain progressive it is critical that it replaces one ambulance each year. For more information visit www.greenwichems.org.
