Family Centers will recognize the many contributions of longtime Board member Laurie Grauer and her husband, Peter, by renaming its Arch Street Preschool in their honor.
During a ceremony scheduled for Friday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m., the Arch Street Preschool will officially become The Grauer School. The dedication will be held at Family Centers’ offices at 40 Arch St.
Grauer has served on the Family Centers’ Board of Directors since 2000, and has worked tirelessly to support the agency’s work to improve the lives of local families. She currently serves at the Board’s Vice Chairman, and has helped guide Family Centers’ service delivery expansion. Grauer is also actively involved in the agency’s fundraising efforts, and has chaired several successful benefits.
The Grauer School is one of Family Centers’ four preschool sites accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Along with its Head Start Preschool at Armstrong Court in Greenwich, Family Centers’ preschools offer quality full-day, full-year early childhood education that are developmentally and socially rich for children between the ages of six weeks and five years.
