In a back-and-forth battle, the Sacred Heart Greenwich lacrosse team defeated Canterbury 15-11 at Canterbury on Saturday.  With the win, the Tigers are 8-1 on the season.

Leading the way for the Sacred Heart was Grace Paletta, who finished with five goals, two assists and five draw controls. Not to be outdone was Ryan Smith, who also finished with five goals and two assists.

Mae Briody added two goals, six assists and four draw controls, while Haley Horn netted two goals. Shannan Pyne took home one assist and three ground balls, while Sammy Clark added a goal.

Emily Micciulli contributed with one assist. In net, Maddie McLane ended the day with seven saves.

“Today was an intense game with Canterbury making a comeback right before the close of the half to tie it up at 7,” Sacred Heart head coach Tara Clough said. ” It was great to see our players step up their level of urgency in gaining possession in the second half.  We succeeded in taking the lead and maintaining composure.  It was a team effort and great win for us.”
