A free event titled, “Stress, Success and Teenage Setbacks: What to Expect the Teen Years’, will take place on Thursday, April 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Arch Street Teen Center, 100 Arch Street. This town-wide event is targeted towards middle school and high school students and parents, and will focus on the mental health of teens. Through food, music, giveaways, and guest speakers, this event will inform, inspire and foster dialogue about how to help teens deal and cope with the pressures they face, and ways to prevent underage drinking.
Inspired by meetings like it across the nation that are sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the event will serve to educate the community about underage drinking and mobilize parents and students around its prevention.
GHS alum Scott “Scooter” Braun will keynote the event, and a panel of experts will share their experiences through real life stories and offer information to parents and teens about fostering positive influences during stressful times.
