
The Brunswick School tennis team topped King 6-1 on Friday in the opening FAA match for the Bruins. Three of four singles matches were won by Brunswick, as the Bruins (2-0, 1-0) swept the three doubles points.
In the warming weather on the King campus, Brunswick’s No. 2 singles player Ben Powis (6-1, 6-1) along with No. 3 Johnny Rose (6-1, 6-2) picked up decisive wins. Not to be outdone was No. 4 singles player Wyatt Rodger (6-4, 7-6), who grinded out another win for the Bruins in singles action.
In doubles play, the No. 1 team of Conner Wakeman and Boden Polikoff dominated their match (6-0, 6-1). The Brunswick No. 2 duo of Ryan Glanville and Clark Davis dispatched their opponents for their victory (6-1, 6-1).
The third doubles point was played as a one-set tiebreaker. Brunswick’s Hayden Hoover and Greyson Wall gutted out an 8-5 win at No. 3.
King’s victory came at No. 1 singles, as Harry Walker upended Willie Turchetta 6-1, 6-1.
