The Wooster Chorus, an ensemble of 66 student musicians from The College of Wooster, will perform at Christ Church Greenwich, 254 E. Putnam Avenue, on Tuesday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m., as part of the group’s 52nd annual spring tour.

Directed by Lisa Wong, the Wooster Chorus will share an eclectic program of choral music that explores the notion of “Play,” featuring the music of contemporary composers in a survey spanning the whimsical to the sublime. Professional saxophonist J. Michael Holmes will join the chorus on two brand new works composed for chorus and saxophone.

Wong is in her seventh year at The College of Wooster, where she directs the Wooster Chorus and the Wooster Singers, and teaches courses in conducting and music education. She holds a degree in music education from West Chester University, and master of music and doctor of music degrees in choral conducting from Indiana University.

Founded in 1964, the Wooster Chorus consists of students representing all academic areas within The College of Wooster’s liberal arts program.

There is no admission fee for the performance, but a freewill offering will be taken. Additional information is available by calling 330-263-2048 or by e-mail dkrain@wooster.edu
