Health Dept. Offers Reduced Fee Radon-in-Air Testing

The Greenwich Health Department Laboratory is offering reduced fee radon-in-air testing through the end of February. With support from a state grant, test kits are available for $30, instead of the usual price of $60.

Long-term exposure to radon can increase a person’s risk for developing lung cancer. After smoking, radon is the second leading cause of cancer in the U.S. Fortunately, radon is easy to detect and fix. Even if you have already had your home tested, it is important to retest, especially if you have done any construction or renovation to your home.

For more information about radon, radon testing, and radon mitigation, contact the Greenwich Department of Health Laboratory at 203-622-7843.
