Letter: Keeping Art

lettertotheeditor

To the Editor:

The Boys and Girls club is a place where kids can go after school to do fun activities.  They have basketball, chess, acting, and so much more.

Recently, many schools have been cutting their art programs because they feel math and science are more important subjects.  Art is essential to our experience of ourselves and the world we live in. Science cannot explain a beautiful sunset, or the feeling of a hot drink when you come out of the cold.

Fortunately, you can sign up at the Boys and Girls Club to do art after school, which is directed by Michael Manning, an international artist, who runs The Red Shoe Studio and regularly teaches art to both children and adults.
