Constitutional scholar Kermit Roosevelt, the award-winning author of Allegiance and the great-great-grandson of President Theodore Roosevelt, will discuss his book at the Greenwich Retired Men’s Association’s meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. Set in World War II, Allegiance recaptures American life and political intrigue in the wake of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

Roosevelt will provide an inside view inside Washington, D.C. and the Supreme Court, and explore the politics, policies, and heroes that have shaped the character of our nation. He draws from his literary novel, providing historical context to the current debate over how national security measures can conflict with American ideals.

Roosevelt has carried his family legacy into the twenty-first century by educating the public through his work. He is a professor of constitutional law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, a former clerk for Supreme Court Justice David Souter.

The Greenwich Retired Men’s Association offers a free program every Wednesday that is open to the public. The social break starts at 10:40 a.m. followed by speaker at 11. Programs are at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich, 1 West Putnam Avenue. For additional information, visit greenwichrma.org or contact info@greenwichrma.org.
