
Dr. John Van Atta, Oaklawn Chair in American History at Brunswick School, explains in his book Wolf by the Ears how the Missouri crisis revealed the impact that slavery had on American nation building. The program, hosted by the Greenwich Historical Society will take place on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 7 to 8 p.m.
Wolf by the Ears provides students in American history with an introduction to the Missouri crisis while offering fresh insights for scholars of the early republic.
A short Q&A session and book signing will follow the lecture, and Wolf by the Ears will be available for purchase. The cost for members: is $10 and $15 for non-members.
