Hortulus, a Garden Club of America club, has maintained the front gardens at The Mews for years. The Mews is an established senior living community in downtown Greenwich.
Members of Hortulus arrive in the spring and the fall to clean up the front area on Arch Street and put in seasonal plant materials. On Oct. 8 a “crew” of members arrived at The Mews to clean up the spring plantings and put in mums and cabbage. Hortulus also brought small flowering plants for the residents to plant and take to their rooms.
Hortulus hosts a GCA Flower Show every three to four years and the funds raised are for civic improvement projects throughout Greenwich.
