The Bruce Museum will launch a new program for families later this month. Beginning Sunday, Oct. 18, new “Bruce Moose Activity Packs” will be available free at the front desk for families to borrow and use while visiting the galleries.

“Bruce Moose Activity Packs are designed to help you and your child explore the museum’s galleries in a fun and hands-on way,” says Laura Stricker, the Museum’s new Manager of Youth & Family Programs. “Each pack contains four to five objects and activities that will encourage more looking, more learning and more discoveries!”

The first Bruce Moose Activity Pack will complement the Museum’s newest exhibition, “Charles Harold Davis (1856-1933): Mystic Impressionist.” The pack contains a variety of activities, including “Mystic Memory,” a card game using Davis’ paintings in memory card format, and “Cloud Exploration,” an activity that takes advantage of Davis’ penchant for painting clouds and encourages children to pay close attention to the clouds in his paintings and the clouds we see outside every day.
