With the start of the new school year just around the corner, the Greenwich Police Department is reminding drivers to be careful on the road.

In a press release, the department says, “Children will once again be walking to school through neighborhoods, waiting at bus stops and being dropped off at schools by parents and buses. Additionally, young drivers will be on the road driving to high school for the frst time. Motorists are reminded that with all the distractions on the road today, it is critical to slow down and be aware of your surroundings.”

The police department suggests leaving home a few minutes early so you are not rushing, and making sure you obey traffic laws. Greenwich police will be out enforcing these laws around schools during the opening weeks of the school year.
