This week, 30 boys and thirty girls from the Christ Church choir will be travelling more than 8000 miles across the Atlantic to southwest England. Their destination is an ancient cathedral in Bristol where they will be serving as choir-in-residence for the week.

In this role, the choristers will provide music at all worship services while abroad. When they are not singing, many unique opportunities to experience the culture of England will arise. The choristers will explore ancient caves, walk through seaside towns, tour the University of Cambridge, taste the local fish and chips and more.

The group hopes to enrich the church and the greater Greenwich community by documenting their experience through a blog. People can follow their journey online at christchurchgreenwich.org, which will feature a chorister journal and pictures of the trip. The site will also include recordings of the services and performances that will allow viewers to partake in worship from overseas.

Christ Church is currently recruiting choristers for the next season. To find out more information about this unique choral experience and how to become involved, contact the Music Office at Christ Church.
