Greenwich’s Island Beach Two-Mile Swim Set for Saturday

The annual Island Beach Two-Mile Swim will take place Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

The event is sponsored by the Town of Greenwich and the Greenwich Swim Committee.  Wetsuits are permitted but swimmers wearing wetsuits will be ineligible for awards.

There will be refreshments and commemorative T-shirts for all participants.

Swimmers should report to Greenwich Harbor at 6:45 a.m. for registration and board Island Beach ferry at 7:20. The race course will be marked by buoys and protected by boats.

The early entry fee for the Island Beach Two-Mile Swim is $75. Deck entries are permitted.

Visit the Greenwich Swim Committee web site Gscevents.org for an entry form and on-line registration. Volunteer boats and kayaks are needed to help protect the race course.
