Every Memorial Day, the late Selectman David Theis would adorn the Mianus River Bridge with American Flags, and soon his name will be forever remembered on that same bridge.

“The bridge will now be the David N. Theis Memorial Bridge,” said First Selectman Peter Tesei.

“We worked really hard from June 3 until last Monday to get it in there, and a lot of people are responsible for that. we are all very happy today,” said State Rep Fred Camillo.

Theis passed away last December but is always remembered for his patriotic sprit.

“He loved the Town, he loved the country, he loved the flag and he loved putting those flags up. He always looked forward to it,” said Camillo.

Officials hope to have the bridge dedication within the next few months.
