Kristen Rice has been with Adopt-A-Dog for 12 years, and two weeks ago,
she was promoted to Executive Director.

Rice is working hard to accomplish the mission of Adopt-A-Dog- saving
the lives of animals that don’t have homes, and finding those animals
homes.

“This past month has been unprecedented with he number of adoptions we’ve
managed. Everybody is excited. We had eight adoptions in eight days.
Yesterday, we had a dog that has been int he shelter for over a year get
adopted,” said Rice.

And Rice says there are three more pending adoptions. Other plans include
a makeover of the volunteer program among other things.

“The goal is to reestablish ourselves as an adoption agency, continue developing
relationships with the community. Community outreach os going to be very big,”
said Rice.

Adopt-A-Dog will be holding a community adoption event on Saturday, June 20 from
12-4 at the shelter. For more information on volunteering or adopting, visit
