Winter Walk: Identifying Trees Without Leaves

January 27, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

After the foliage fireworks of autumn, most people aren’t interested in the natural beauty of trees in the winter. They often think of the winter forest as a monochromatic stand of brown and grey trunks. But on this guided walk through the 40-acre Lapham Preserve we will discuss ways to look closer at the diverse features of bark, branches, and buds to see a varied winter landscape.

Free and open to the public. The walk covers mostly flat, but some mixed terrain. All ages are welcome. Sturdy, waterproof footwear along with warm clothes are recommended.
