The Latin Quarter: Heart and Soul of France’s Intellectual Life with M. Daniel Vock

We’ll survey Mount Sainte Geneviève from East to West, pinpointing the monuments and institutions. We will highlight the recent history of the Quarter, from May 1968, the most transforming social movement in the history of modern France, to the homage to Samuel Paty in the yard of the Sorbonne last October. We will address today’s cultural life and will end with a virtual visit to your lecturer’s favorite sites.
