Science on the Silver Screen

May 14, 2017 @ 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Sunday, May 14: 1:30 to 4:30 pm. Science on the Silver Screen. We cannot disclose the name of this popular, 2016 American science fiction film, but it has aliens. The expert guest is Dr. Marie Coppola, director of the University of Connecticut’s Language Creation Lab. Her research focuses on the interplay between language and cognition, the acquisition of language, and the genesis of new languages. The first in a 3-part series of summer movie screenings followed by Q&A sessions with scientists to explain what was right, what was wrong, and what was just confusing.  Free with Museum admission, but registration is required at 203-413-6747 or science@brucemuseum.org
