Saw-whet Owls: Small, Fierce, and Migratory
October 3, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$10Discover the amazing world of Saw-whet Owls! During migration, hawks may travel by day, but did you know some owls migrate by night? Our smallest (and perhaps cutest) owl species in the northeast, the Northern Saw-whet Owl, migrates through our region on autumn nights. And thanks to banding, researchers have gained valuable knowledge about these incredible night time navigators.
Join Greenwich Audubon Center as we welcome Trudy Battaly and Drew Panko as they discuss their work banding Northern Saw-Whet Owls at Westchester Community College. These small but fierce predators are the silent travelers of our night skies. During this exciting online program, we will also have the opportunity to meet a Saw-whet Owl up close with Christine’s Critters!
Program Fee: $10 and up (Please only register through our official registration page provided below)
