This fund raising effort is a part of:
October 2016: National Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention Month
Be Part of the Movement to End Domestic Violence
Conceived by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). According to the NCADV, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been physically abused by an intimate partner, and the effects on children are painful and overwhelming. The intent of DVAM is to raise awareness of this devastating and complex issue and connect victims with advocates and agencies that are working together to end domestic violence.
During the month of October, YWCA Greenwich is sponsoring events to raise awareness and asks the Greenwich community to be part of the movement to end domestic violence.
