My Journey from Homeless to Harvard:  The Power of Mentors

February 23, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

At 15, Liz Murray was homeless. The child of drug-addicted parents, she slept in subway stations and ate out of dumpsters, and that could have been her whole story–if it weren’t for mentors. Thanks to a few caring teachers and role models (and her own hard work) Liz is now a Harvard graduate, the author of the New York Times best-selling memoir Breaking Night, and an advocate for at-risk youth.
On Thursday, February 23 at 7 pm, TNP Library welcomes Liz Murray for “My Journey from Homeless to Harvard,” where she will share her remarkable story and introduce The Arthur Project, the nonprofit she co-founded to bring mentoring to underserved youth. Murray will uncover the power each of us has to transform our own life and the lives of others.
