Do you a high school girl whose volunteer activities show a significant and sustained commitment to community service and leadership? Do you exemplify the mission of the Junior League of Greenwich- promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of volunteers?
If this sounds you or someone you know, the Junior League of Greenwich wants you to apply for the Community Service Award and Scholarship. Young girls committed to community service and leadership are encouraged to apply.
Last year’s recipient Izabela Horzempa stood out for her significant and sustained community service and leadership, but also for her fulfillment of the JLG’s mission of developing the potential of women. She was a member of the National Honor Society, as well as a national gold medalist and a state silver medalist for her ceramic artwork. She raised more money as Homecoming Chair than anyone previously. Izabela attends Fairfield University and used the Community Award to help fund her college tuition.
Applications can be found on Junior League’s website.
