$225

Jewish Family Services of Greenwich will be holding its annual Spring Celebration on Thursday, May 1st at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center in Stamford, CT. During the event, JFS will recognize community members whose involvement has made a significant impact on the organization.

Lynn and Vernon Schwartz – Care and Commitment Award – have been dedicated supporters of JFS for over a decade. Lynn’s exceptional volunteer work and Vernon’s strong support of the organization’s mission have left a lasting impact on the community.

Morgan Caspi – Community Impact Award – a volunteer with the Friendly Fridge Network, expanded access to nutritious meals for public school children facing food insecurity. She paved the way for partnerships with JFS, Meals on Main Street, and the Friendly Fridge Network to place freezers stocked with healthy meals in local schools, feeding hundreds of students.

Jessie Sorensen – Heart of Service Award – Since 2022, Jessie Sorenson has been a dedicated volunteer with JFS. Her unending support for newly arriving families includes assisting with ESL tutoring, food deliveries, childcare, and resettlement support.

The Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa – Champions of Change Award – The Stamford Marriott has been a vital partner in supporting refugee clients by offering job opportunities and helping individuals rebuild their lives. Their compassion has played a pivotal role in the self-sufficiency of dozens of immigrants.

Will Chasin – Gen Z Future Leader Honoree – an 11th grader at Horace Mann, has combined his passion for photography with volunteer work, offering family portraits to refugee families and mentoring a young student.

Jessie Colin – Gen Z Future Leader Honoree – an 11th grader at Greenwich Country Day School, began tutoring a 10-year-old Venezuelan student, transforming his learning and forming a deep bond with the entire family.

Katie Ruhe – Gen Z Future Leader Honoree – a senior at King School, has volunteered for over two years. She has documented the stories of several of our refugee clients for the King School Project “Empowering Voices,” and has organized welcome basket collections for newly arrived families.

JFS of Greenwich’s Spring Celebration will benefit the agency’s life-changing programs, including Resettlement and Immigration Services, Supermarketing for Seniors, Compassionate Companions, Family Support Services, Jewish Health & Healing, and Behavioral Health.
