Join Greenwich Audubon Center as we celebrate the fall raptor migration season and kickoff Hawk Week!
Each fall, Broad-winged Hawks and other birds of prey migrate across Connecticut by the thousand in large flocks called “kettles,” soaring on thermals from their breeding grounds to winter habitat thousands of miles away. This migration season occurs from late August through November, but the peak is September-October.
Tune in for our online Hawk Week Kickoff Party as we launch our week-long celebration of this amazing phenomenon from our Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch lawn at our center.
