Hawk Watch Season Kickoff

August 28, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

$5

Did you know that an average of 20,000 hawks, eagles, falcons, and vultures migrate over the Audubon Greenwich Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch every fall? Come join the Audubon’s hawk-counter Ryan MacLean as they kick off another hawk-watching season. Learn how they identify and tally raptors at Audubon Greenwich and other hawk watches across the country.
It will begin with a presentation in Kiernan Hall at the Kimberlin Nature Education Center building, followed by a short walk to the Hawk Watch lawn where you’ll learn how to use binoculars and, with some luck, hopefully see a few raptors up close. Bring your own binoculars or borrow one of their loaner pairs. Picnic refreshments will be served on the lawn afterward. All ages are welcome. $5 per person.
Please RSVP to Gigi Lombardi at glombardi@audubon.org or 203-930-1351.
