June 5, 2017 @ 1:15 pm - 3:00 pm

$25

“Van Gogh and Nature”, a lecture by Carol Berry, author and scholar.
Rrefreshments immediately following the lecture
Vincent Van Gogh remained a country boy at heart all his life.
“Nature spoke to him with a thousand voices, and his soul listened.”
His intimate relationship with nature was inspired by reverence and awe, and a delight in its vitality. In the presentation Vincent Van Gogh and Nature, we will meet young Vincent in the flat fertile fields of his native Holland and accompany him on his artist’s path to the sun drenched landscapes of the south of France. His love of nature eventually found expression in his emphatic brush strokes and vivid complementary colors.
Carol Berry, author and scholar, has degrees in art and psychology and art education. For many years she has lectured and led retreats based on the spiritual teaching of Henri Nouwen and Van Gogh.
Admission for non-members of the Greenwich Decorative Arts Society is $25. Space is limited.  Reservations required for members and guests by May 29th.  For reservations and information: greenwichdecorativearts@gmail.com or 203-322-2967.
