Greenwich Choral Society’s Holiday Concert “Holiday Brass”

This year’s Greenwich Choral Society December Concert, ‘Holiday Brass,’ features Jonathan Willcocks’ exhilarating Magnificat, a melodious and rhythmical setting of the Song of Mary from the Gospel of Luke.  The program will also include shorter works for brass and chorus by Jan Sweelinck, Leo Nestor and Julian Wachne
As is our tradition, the December concert will begin with a procession of bells, candles and voices, as we surround the audience in the darkened sanctuary with the traditional carol Away In A Manger.
Carols with audience participation will be threaded throughout the program and complement the rich fabric of sounds and images of the season, including Ola Gjeilo’s rapturous Northern Lights and Hanukkah songs celebrating the “Festival of Lights.”
This festive concert is a wonderful way to usher in this glorious time of the year.
