Greenwich Bastille Flag-raising

Join members of the Alliance Française of Greenwich in the presence of First Selectman Peter J. Tesei, Yann Yochum Deputy Consul of the French Consulate in New York, Bea Crumbine, Greenwich Ambassador at Large, Jean Lachaud,President of the American Society of Le Souvenir Français,( Inc.), and Colonel Serge Gabriel, Life Member of The Washington- Rochambeau Revolutionary Route Association (W3R) on the steps of Greenwich Town Hall for the raising of the French and American flags honoring the ongoing friendship between France and the United States.
Bastille Day, the name given in English-speaking countries to the French National Holiday, is celebrated annually on July 14. In France, it is formally called La Fete Nationale or Le quatorze juillet commemorating the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789 in Paris, a pivotal event at the beginning of the French Revolution.
