Friends Friday Films: The Nightingale

There’s no longer-lived or better-known program associated with Greenwich Library than the Friends Friday Film Series, now 69 years old. The screening of the day is The Nightingale (2013, directed by Philippe Muyl). A retired senior honors his late wife’s request to return to their village to release his bird. He unexpectedly has to journey with his miss smarty pants spoiled granddaughter from Beijing while her Type A parents are out of town. Warm, beguiling, and stunning to watch.
