Flinn Gallery/ Friends Friday Films Art Double Feature: The Cardboard Bernini

March 24, 2017 @ 7:40 pm - 10:30 pm

Free

There’s no longer-lived or better-known program associated with Greenwich Library than the Friends Friday Film Series, now 69 years old. The screening of the day is The Cardboard Bernini (2013, directed by Olympia Stone). Artist Grashow created sculptures out of corrugated cardboard that are left outdoors in the elements to slowly disintegrate, “Ashes to ashes, mush to mush”, comments Grashow. Engrossing documentary on the creative process. His work is now on display in the Flinn Gallery through April 26.
This Friends “Art Double Feature’ complements the Flinn Gallery show “The Constructions of Jimmy Grashow”. The Gallery is open until showtime. Friends Friday Films are open to all at no charge through the support of the Friends of Greenwich Library.
