There’s no longer-lived or better-known program associated with Greenwich Library than the Friends Friday Film Series, now 69 years old. The screening of the day is I Knew Her Well (Io La Conoscevo Bene) (1965, directed by Antonio Pietrangeli). Rarely seen film that never had a commercial showing in the states. A young country woman with acting aspirations gets caught up in the tempestuous temptations of La Dolce Vita in the big city. One of the generation defining films from the heyday of Italian films from the mid-sixties. In Italian with English subtitles.
