Friends Friday Films: Genius

May 19, 2017 @ 7:40 pm - 10:30 pm

Free

There’s no longer-lived or better-known program associated with Greenwich Library than the Friends Friday Film Series, now 69 years old. The screening of the day is Genius (2016, directed by Michael Grandage). The film explores the working relationship between Scribner’s famous literary editor Maxwell Perkins and irrepressible writer Thomas Wolfe as they crafted Wolfe’s 1929 classic “Look Homeward, Angel” together. The exchanges between editor and author are exhilarating. Also glimpsed are Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Friends Friday Films are open to all at no charge through the support of the Friends of Greenwich Library.
