Friends Friday Films: Concussion

December 2, 2016 @ 7:40 pm - 10:30 pm

Free

There’s no longer-lived or better-known program associated with Greenwich Library than the Friends Friday Film Series, now 69 years old. The screening of the day is Concussion (2015, directed by Peter Landesman). Forensic pathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu in Pittsburgh  runs into big time opposition when he claims concussions arise from high impact sports. His research on Pittsburgh Steeler Mike Webster raised public awareness of the issue. Smith’s performance as Dr. Bennet Omalu is small-scaled and precise. Friends Friday Films are open to all at no charge through the support of the Friends of Greenwich Library.
