Friends Friday Films: Café Society

June 30, 2017 @ 7:40 pm - 10:30 pm

Free

There’s no longer-lived or better-known program associated with Greenwich Library than the Friends Friday Film Series, now 69 years old. The screening of the day is Café Society (2016, directed by Woody Allen). In his 47th film, Woody Allen revisits his fondness for Hollywood nostalgia following a young Bronx man who moves to Hollywood in the 1930s to work for his uncle, a powerful agent. Filmed in a golden light and with the players wrapped in fetching period clothes, it is directed, written, and narrated by Mr. Allen. Friends Friday Films are open to all at no charge through the support of the Friends of Greenwich Library.
