Fall Docent Training 2017.Orientation for New Docents

Join the Bruce Museum Docents, “the most exciting volunteer job!” After the orientation, there will be weekly training sessions throughout the fall and spring to provide thorough preparation for conducting guided tours of exhibitions for adults and for teaching programs to school-ages children in the museum. In addition, docents meet throughout the year for the Lorraine Block Docent Lecture Series, workshops on art, science and teaching skills and for visits to other museums. Participants receive Bruce Museum Docent Certification on completion of training at the Annual Lorraine Block Docent Award Dinner. Teaching experience is a definite plus but not a prerequisite.
