Discussion on the NEC FUTURE plan to install High Speed Rails

May 23, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Greenwich Preservation Trust invites the public to attend a meeting regarding a discussion on the NEC FUTURE plan to install High Speed Rails that will be devastating to our community and change our standard of living forever. The rails will run along the I-95 corridor from New York to Boston. From the sketchy maps we have received, the segment in Greenwich will run from the Cos Cob Railroad Station over and by the Greenwich Historical Society campus and Mill Pond dam and then through the new Mead Avenue/River Road historic District and then through historic neighborhoods in Riverside and Old Greenwich and homes along Byram Road and portions of Byram Park. The project will destroy our historic landmarks not to mention the havoc it will cause to our land, air, water and sound pollution.

We have invited the Ct. Trust for Historic Preservation Greg Stroud and colleagues  to come and discuss this most destructive DOT plan.
