Have you ever done a digital detox?
Like really put down your phone, stepped away from the social media and didn’t answer your text or email right away… but had a true day where you conscious chose not to respond or social media stalk anyone on your phone?
We live in a time where any one can find us, talk to us at any time. Our work rarely stays at work. Facebook and Instagram provide endless entertainment and grounds for the comparison game. It’s completely mixed into our personal space and even though its a little here and a little there… when we really look at it we are constantly preoccupied, escaping our reality by grabbing for our phones, computers, iPads, etc.
All the Facebook, Instagram, email and text noise clouds our lives, when we cant be on it to be present for something else, we realized how much we miss being fully present in life and how much invisible space all of that stuff takes up.
This is not about going off the grid completely, but honoring ourselves by staying off and savoring the other parts of life too every now and then.
Studies actually show that the more we scroll through our social media, the lower our mood becomes.
