Curiosity Concerts presents Tom Chapin and Friends
June 11, 2016 @ 3:00 pm
FreeCuriosity Concerts is a series of free family concerts presented by professional musicians at different venues in Greenwich. Concerts are 50 minutes long and are designed to inspire parents as well as their children of any age (but children should be able to enjoy an hour of music). Tom Chapin and Friends will perform on Saturday, June 11 at 3 p.m., at Greenwich Library Cole Auditorium, 101 West Putnam Avenue.
In this participatory program, witness teamwork in action. Experience how performers, composers, and audiences work together to tell stories, make connections, and celebrate. Oleg Kruglyakov, balalaika virtuoso, and Terry Boyarsky, masterful pianist, offer an introduction to classical music and Russian folk music through the balalaika, a traditional Russian 3-stringed instrument. Listeners will be captivated by exuberant music, energized by dynamic rhythms, and moved by beautiful melodies. Learn how the balalaika came onto the concert stage from humble peasant origins in Old Russia.
The concert is free, but reservations are required at CuriosityConcerts.org
This concert is presented in partnership with the Ashforth Children’s Concert Series.
(We have wait lists, our musicians are paid, and the tickets have real value. Please, only reserve if you are certain to attend. “No shows” will not be allowed to reserve for future concerts.)
