First-ever “Greenwich Playing for Change Day”

FreeWestern Middle School will host the first-ever “Greenwich Playing For Change Day” on September 24, 2016, 2:00-5:00pm. “Playing for Change Day” is a worldwide event promoting global music education. The free, family music festival will include Curiosity Concerts’ season opening concert at 3:00pm featuring the South American-infused Atacama Ensemble. The day also includes the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra’s Storytime Quartet “World Music Tour” narrated by Eddie Pleasant (at 2pm), as well as music education workshops and student recitals (throughout the afternoon). Workshop highlights include a Young People’s Drum Circle presented by Music Together of Fairfield County, and a parents workshop “Practice Revolution” presented by Heather Watson of the Greenwich Suzuki Academy.
