Canada Goose Population Stabilization Training (egg oiling)

March 30, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Once again, the Greenwich Conservation Commission will be hosting a training program for all local officials, residents, and land managers in the area as part of a regional effort to coordinate Canada goose management on both public and private properties.
Participants in the training program will learn the basics of egg oiling from Conservation Director Denise Savageau, including how to locate nests, how to oil the eggs, safely interact with geese, and when to conduct the program using the GeesePeace program. US Fish and Wildlife Service regulations and reporting forms will also be discussed. The Humane Society has approved the protocol used in this program.
Landowners, neighborhood association members, groundskeepers, golf course superintendents, and town staff that annually have goslings in their water resources are encouraged to attend and share the flyer for this training.  There is no fee for this program – pre-registration is required so that we can have appropriate number of handouts, etc.
To register call – 203-622-6461
For more information contact Denise Savageau, Conservation Director at 203-622-6461 ordenise.savageau@greenwichct.org.
