$10On May 5 at 2:00pm in the Gale and Robert H. Lawrence, Jr., and Pamela and Robert Goergen Auditorium, join us for a screening of Ricardo and Painting, a film by Barbet Schroeder, followed by a Q&A with the Director of Programming for the Focus on French Cinema, Joe Meyer. Ricardo and Painting is Barbet Schroeder’s portrait of his friend the painter Ricardo Cavallo, who devoted his life to painting. From Buenos Aires to Finistère, via Paris and Peru, this film is an invitation to dive into the history of painting, but also to discover the life of this exceptional man who, with simplicity and humility, always fully committed, to the point of transmitting his passion to the children of his village.
Sunday Cinema is a curated film series which showcases a diverse selection of films that discuss science, art, and the intersection between the two. From documentaries that delve into the lives of groundbreaking scientists to visually stunning narratives that draw inspiration from the wonders of the natural world, each screening promises an enriching cinematic experience. Through the generous support of Bank of America, Bruce Experiences: Sunday Cinema seeks to bridge the gap between the analytical and the imaginative, offering a unique perspective on the shared narratives of these seemingly distinct worlds.
