AuthorsLive and co-host India Cultural Center welcome Pushcart Prize-winning fiction writer and former longtime Greenwich resident Beena Kamlani to Greenwich Library for a conversation about her debut novel, The English Problem, based on her own family’s history, including photos of Gandhi and Nehru at her grandfather’s home in India. The discussion will be moderated by Beth Davey, literary agent and founder of Greenwich’s Davey Literary & Media.

In The English Problem, a young Indian man is tapped to help his country’s fight for freedom—but his heart engages him in a different war. Set against the backdrop of the Indian independence movement, with appearances by historical figures such as Virginia and Leonard Woolf and Mahatma Gandhi, Kamlani “packs an important dose of relevant history into a very human story” (Kirkus Reviews).

Copies of The English Problem will be available for purchase and signing through Diane’s Books.
