Announcing Intn’l Women’s Day Celebration

Girls With Impact (GWI) and Heather Gaudio Fine Arts today announced it will recognize the women of Fairfield County at a community-wide International Women’s Day reception to be held on March 8th at the gallery on Greenwich Avenue.
Proceeds from art sold on March 8th will be contributed to GWI, 501c3 based in Greenwich and the nation’s leading business & leadership training program for young women, is committed to reducing the 50 year time frame McKinsey estimates until women are equally represented in business.
The event is open to business leaders, philanthropists, parents, community leaders and more.
“Every one of us has a woman who’s impacted our lives – a mother, boss, mentor, teacher, grandmother – and so many others,” said GWI CEO Jennifer Opemshaw. “Let’s celebrate the hard work and accomplishments in our homes, our communities, and our businesses.”
International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating equal opportunity.
The day has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.
